Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity recently celebrated a major milestone with the community build of Home 100, bringing together more than 100 volunteers in the parking lot of the Habitat ReStore in Eastlake for a powerful two-day event centered around affordable housing, community impact, and hope.
The future homeowner, Juana, and her two children were surrounded by volunteers, sponsors, community leaders, and supporters as walls for their future home were assembled piece by piece in the ReStore parking lot. The event marked not only the construction of a home, but a celebration of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

Building More Than a Home in Eastlake
Hosted at the Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity ReStore located in Eastlake, Ohio, the Home #100 Community Build transformed the parking lot into an active construction site where volunteers of all skill levels helped frame the future home.
From families and first-time volunteers to local businesses and community partners, participants worked side by side assembling wall panels, signing framing lumber, and learning firsthand how affordable housing changes lives right here in Lake and Geauga Counties. The event highlighted Habitat’s mission of helping local families achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
A Home for Juana and Her Children
For Juana and her two children, Home #100 represents more than walls and a roof. It represents safety, stability, and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
Affordable housing creates lasting impacts for families by improving financial stability, educational opportunities for children, and overall health and wellbeing. Through Habitat’s homeownership program, families partner with Habitat by completing sweat equity hours and purchasing their home through an affordable mortgage.

Community Volunteers Make It Possible
The Home #100 build would not have been possible without the incredible support of volunteers and community partners who donated their time, energy, and resources to help bring this milestone project to life.
Volunteers helped:
Cut and prepare lumber
Assemble framing walls
Support build logistics
Welcome guests and community members
Create an encouraging and family-friendly atmosphere throughout the event
No construction experience was required, proving that anyone can make a meaningful difference in their community through volunteering.
