Our Repair Program Sucess Stories:
Click on a homeowner's name below to read their repair program story.
Martha, a retired RN, is raising her 9-year-old great-grandson alone in the home she and her late husband, an Air Force veteran, built in 1979. She sought assistance with repairing windows, siding, and her deck after a small fire.
Through the Aging in Place/Housing Plus Program, an Occupational Therapist from University Hospitals assessed her home to prioritize safety improvements. Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity updated the electrical system, installed two ADA-compliant toilets, rebuilt her steps, and repaired or replaced her windows and siding, ensuring a safer and more comfortable living environment.
